Judy is a young Aboriginal artist and lives in Boundary Bore in the Utopia Region. She paints leaves and Yam Dreaming and in particular her recent works are spectacular. They show a great skill in using bright colours and a lot of flair. She depicts the root system of the yam tree that intermingle.
Judy’s ‘pedigree’ is enviable. She has been taught by the best. Her father is International Artist and Tribal Elder Greeny Purvis Petyarre, and her Great Aunt is the late Emily Kngwarreye – arguably Australia’s most famous aboriginal artist. They have assisted and instructed this young painter both culturally and artistically.
Judy is a naturally talented artist whose works are sort after by collectors both in Australia and overseas. She is without a doubt one of the shining lights of the younger generation of Aboriginal artists.
