ARTIST PROFILE

Sandra Sampi

Sandra is an exceptionally talented third generation ochre artist from a renowned artistic family. She has already established a name for herself as an accomplished painter, and has enjoyed the opportunity to paint and study Art in Darwin.

Born in Wyndham in 1976, Sandra grew up at Crocodile Hole (Rugan Community), via Turkey Creek in the East Kimberley and had excellent teachers, including her uncle Tiger Moore (dcsd. July 2005) who was the Traditional Custodian of Doon Doon Country and an established Elder artist, and her grandmother, Peggy Patrick who is a famous International Artist and cultural leader. Sandra has painted with the best of the contemporary Warmun artists.

Sandra has participated in Group Exhibitions with Senior Ochre Artists and her works are held in private collections in Australia and Europe.
