How Artworks Are Sent
Ochre / Kimberley artworks are shipped on canvas or linen, already stretched, ready to hang unless stated otherwise.
Acrylic artworks are shipped on canvas or linen un-stretched, rolled up in a cardboard tube unless stated otherwise.
These artworks will need to be stretched on a stretcher board before hanging.
This can be done by nearly any picture framer (highly recommended) or you can DIY if you’re confident in your handiwork.
There are numerous "how to" videos on YouTube showing you how to achieve this.
Artist Profile
Elizabeth Kunoth Kngwarreye was born in 1961 in the Utopia region of NT. She is the daughter of Nancy Petyarre, one of the celebrated seven Petyarre sisters. Elizabeth lives at Mosquito Bore outstation with her husband Cowboy Louie Pwerle who is also an established artist.
Elizabeth’s paintings portray her desert country scattered with bush seeds, using small dots that move across the artwork like a breeze taking the seeds on their journey through the desert.
Elisabeth’s paintings depict the seeds of the Bush Plum which is a highly nutritious small fruit rich in vitamin C that can be eaten raw or cooked. Growing in a great profusion of flower and fruit throughout the winter months, the women, accompanied by the children collect the bush plums, while at the same time reconfirming their confirmation to the land. The flourish of colour that distinguishes the bush plum after the fall of the rain is quickly transformed with the long hot summer months. Dried and separated, the seed and husk are scattered over the vast sunbaked landscape by the hot summer winds.
