How Artworks Are Sent
Ochre / Kimberley artworks are shipped on canvas or linen, already stretched, ready to hang unless stated otherwise.
Acrylic artworks are shipped on canvas or linen un-stretched, rolled up in a cardboard tube unless stated otherwise.
These artworks will need to be stretched around a wooden frame before hanging
This can be done by nearly any picture framer (highly recommended) or you can DIY if you’re confident in your handiwork.
There are numerous "how to" videos on YouTube showing you how to achieve this.
Artist Profile
Lissandra Campbell Naparrula was born in 1984 in Alice Springs, NT. She lives in Mt. Liebig (Watiyawanu) with her mother, highly respected artist Maisie Campbell. Mount Liebig lies on the western edge of the MacDonnell Ranges, approx. 325km west of Alice Springs and is a go-between community for families with connections to Haasts Bluff, Papunya, Kintore and Kiwirrkura. Lissandra and her family often travel to Kintore to visit family.
Lissandra started painting around 2000. She comes from a long line of artists. As well as her talented mother, her father was the artist Barney Campbell Tjakamarra. A senior Pintupi lawman, Barney was a custodian of the Tingari Cycle stories.
An artist with immense talent, Larissa will no doubt have a long and successful career.
Artwork Description
Traditional colours and heavy dot work are used to depict sacred women’s sites in the Kintore area. The concentric circles commonly seen in her paintings represent the important ceremonial sites for Lissandra and her ancestors and the connecting lines between the circles are the ancient travelling paths that lead to these sites.
