Naomi Pula Price / Bush Medicine Ceremony

An Anmatyerre artist continuing the Utopia tradition of her mother, Anna Price Petyarre. Her finely detailed dot work explores Country and ceremony while extending a widely respected family lineage into a third generation. Encouraged by her mother and other family members, Naomi has developed her own practice. Her approach is similar to the early artworks of her mother Anna with finely detailed dot work telling the narrative of her country and ceremonies.

Her grandmother Gloria was recognised for her eye for colour, a legacy of her Batik practice, which she passed down to her daughters and granddaughters. Naomi is an Anmetyerre woman from Boundary Bore, around 300km North East of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. She is related by marriage to Emily Kame Kngwarreye (her grandfather was Michael Kngwarreye) and her Grandmother is the late Gloria (Glory) Ngale.
