How Artworks Are Sent
Ochre / Kimberley artworks are shipped on canvas or linen, already stretched, ready to hang unless stated otherwise.
Acrylic artworks are shipped on canvas or linen un-stretched, rolled up in a cardboard tube unless stated otherwise.
These artworks will need to be stretched on a stretcher board before hanging.
This can be done by nearly any picture framer (highly recommended) or you can DIY if you’re confident in your handiwork.
There are numerous "how to" videos on YouTube showing you how to achieve this.
Artist Profile
Roslyn was born in Derby in 1962 and now resides in Kalumburu with the other members of her very talented family. She is the eldest daughter of Lily and the late Jack Karadada and will carry on the tradition they have indelibly marked on the art world.
She is of Gnurre skin and her Language is Woonambal. Ros is well educated and has studied language and culture which she teaches to the children of her Community. She travels within the region extensively with her husband, which is very fortunate as she is able to collect the finest soft slate which she carves to perfection, as well as her beautiful Boab Nuts, invariably featuring Wandjina images and rock art of her Kalumburu country.
Roslyn is as comfortable with acrylic medium as she is with ochre, and with small paintings to huge works.
She has developed a distinctive style of Wandjina art, with rather more emphasis on the bold strength of the Rain God – resulting in spectacular works. She is a strong lady and a strong painter – she stamps her carvings, didgeridoos and her magnificent art.
Artwork Description
This is Wandjina and the little Gwion figures in the rocks and caves where I live and where I have visited with Mum and Dad. A lot of this land is Traditional country for my parents and they have taken me with them since I was a little kid. I paint the images the way I see them closer to Kalumburu, where I live. Mum paints a different style, more like the Wandjina in the country where she was born.
