About Artlandish Gallery

Hi and thank you for visiting Artlandish Gallery online. My name is Scott Linklater and I’m one small part of the Artlandish team.

Family Owned & Operated

Artlandish is a family owned and operated business. I look after all the website stuff so that’s why I’m writing this.

My sister Kirstie is the gallery manager and her husband Jeff takes care of everything behind the scenes.

Our Extended Family

Then there are the dozens of artists who paint in-house and visit us daily who are our extended family!

We’d be lost without our talented Graphic Designer Amy who is based at our gallery in Kununurra & Ros is the star who runs our Facebook page & presence on social media including Instagram, YouTube & Pinterest. We also have our two little gallery ‘meet and greet’ staff – Poppy and Bella, the Maltese Shih Tzu sisters 🙂 They’re always up for a pat and tummy rub!

Original team members we said goodbye to

Since opening in late 2001 we’ve lost a couple of members along the way. The gallery was originally started by my mum Pam and myself. She was the driving force behind the gallery in its early days.

We also said goodbye to the gallery boss, Maggie the dog. She did a great job for ten years keeping everything running smoothly 😉 You’ll see her pop up in photos around the site no doubt!

Many of the artists we work with were family friends long before we began presenting their works through our gallery and here online.

It was these friendships and their generosity in always wanting to share their experiences and culture that ultimately led to us to being involved in showcasing Aboriginal Art.

We hope you enjoy having a look around the online gallery and if we can help in any way, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Cheers!

Kirstie, Jeff, Scott, the crew & all the artists

Artlandish has grown enormously since we began in 2001 to become one of the largest Aboriginal art galleries in the world.

We are located in Kununurra, Western Australia, the gateway to the beautiful Kimberley region of Australia and the heartland of painting Indigenous Art using traditional natural ochres.

Our Commitment to our clients

We are committed to providing our clients with the highest quality, authentic artworks, exceptional customer service and true value for money.

How we buy our artworks

We purchase the vast majority of our artworks direct from Independent Artists, Curators that have genuinely close, strong and happy relationships with artists and from Art Centres where possible.

How we pay artists we work with

All of the artists we deal directly with are paid immediately on completion of a painting so there’s no waiting for it to sell before they are paid. A situation many artists from around the world must deal with.

Whilst this policy goes against much of the art world and is very expensive for us as we hold so much more stock, it has been our policy since day one. There is no reason why someone who does an honest days work should have to wait a year or longer to get paid!

Well in excess of $2 million paid to artists by Artlandish

This mantra has meant that so far we have paid local artists well over $2 million and that money has directly helped hundreds of Indigenous families and communities over many years.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch

Again, if we can be of assistance to you in any way, please don’t hesitate to contact us as we love to talk to people from all over the world about the many different aspects of Aboriginal art and culture.

We look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
