How Artworks Are Sent
Ochre / Kimberley artworks are shipped on canvas or linen, already stretched, ready to hang unless stated otherwise.
Acrylic artworks are shipped on canvas or linen un-stretched, rolled up in a cardboard tube unless stated otherwise.
These artworks will need to be stretched on a stretcher board before hanging.
This can be done by nearly any picture framer (highly recommended) or you can DIY if you’re confident in your handiwork.
There are numerous "how to" videos on YouTube showing you how to achieve this.
Artist Profile
Artwork Description
Lolly Creek is to the southwest of Doomerinjji country on Texas Downs Station to the north of the new Homestead, and west of Station Creek. High hills to the North, good grazing in the middle with Lolly Creek always full of water from underground springs. This is the south western part of the station and easy to get to from Turkey Creek. Charlene’s father, the late artist and elder Churchill Cann, says that Lolly Creek was named by the stockmen after a muster when the missus from the Station forgot to pack sugar with the stockmen’s provisions. By the time they arrived back at the homestead, they all had withdrawal symptoms from lack of sugar and she gave them lollies quickly to settle them down.
Gallery Note: Texas Downs Station is situated between Turkey Creek (Warmun Community) and Purnululu (Bungle Bungles) in the East Kimberley. This is the artist’s family home and her father was head stockman on the Station. Texas is now an outstation for the larger Lissadell group, however the Kitja people who were born and worked on the station are allowed unlimited access to this land.
