Artwork Description
Lynette’s artwork is associated with Women’s Ceremony and Law. In this artwork she has depicted, in the more traditional colour palette, the country surrounding the sacred women’s sites of Marrapinti, to the west of the Pollock Hills in WA. Here she shows the travelling paths leading to these sites.
In the dreamtime, a large group of senior women camped at the rockholes making the nose bones which are worn on ceremonial occasions. The Women later travelled east gathering edible Berries known as Kampuraarpa (Desert Raisin).
